5 things Obama did not see or do in Cuba

The entire world talked about President Obama’s historic visit in Cuba. It was indeed historic, since more than 88 years passed since the last visit of an American president. Journalists followed every single step he made on Cuban land, and wrote extended stories about every gesture, word or nod he made. That’s why we know for sure there are still things he missed, such as:

1. He did not learn to salsa. Maybe he felt discouraged by Cubans professional-level Salsa skills, but they say Salsa is all about practicing it together, so maybe he could have tried it, nevertheless…

2. He did not try street food. Probably it’s not that easy to just be spontaneous and feast on street food, when being a president. But the delicious Cuban street food is something no one should miss when in Cuba. Pork burgers, coconut pie, guava milkshakes are just a few of the mouth-watering Cuban dishes that make tourists fall in love with Cuban cuisine.

3. He did not had a ride in a Cuban antique car.  There’s an old story about a carpenter who had a favorite hammer. The story goes that he loved his hammer so much that over the years he replaced the handle four times, and replaced the head twice. The story of Cuba’s famous antique cars is much the same — it’s a miracle that there’s anything left of the originals at all. But they are so nice that everyone should see what it’s like to have a ride in a Cuban classic car, including presidents…

4. He did not lie in the Cuban sun. There are so many amazing beaches in Cuba: Varadero, Cayos Coco y Guillermo, Ancon, Guardalavaca, that it’s very hard to choose one. Maybe this was the reason why President Obama didn’t go to the beach! Or maybe because he would have been surrounded by journalists and cameras? Who knows…

5. He did not receive a Cubacel mobile recharge or use WiFi from a Nauta hubspot. So he didn’t have a chance to convert CUCs into USDs. Still, we’re pretty sure President Obama doesn’t worry about roaming taxes and he probably uses his own super-classified WiFi network.

We believe that on a personal level, the small gestures make history, such as calling or sending a mobile recharge to your loved ones for no reason whatsoever.
