When young, people often seem not to understand gratitude. In a universe where you had to go to school and get good grades, you had to help with the chores, giving thanks was not your top priority. However, time has passed and we see gratitude in a whole different way. We come to realize that being grateful is a choice. And this Thanksgiving, we choose to make a list.

So, this Thanksgiving we choose to be thankful for:

  • Being healthy

Our daily rush often makes us oblivious when it comes to appreciating the simple things in life. The pandemic gave us some idea about why being healthy should be our main reason for being thankful, but the effects are vanishing away, so we are bringing back this topic.

  • Laughter

Yes, it may seem like something small. But can you imagine a world without laughter? Gloomy and serious? No! A little laughter goes a long way and can help brighten your day or anyone else’s. So make sure to laugh (daily, if possible) with friends and family members while you can because life is a precious gift and it is important to enjoy it with the people you love most.

  • A cosy home

That oasis where you find your peace and calm. It might not always be peaceful, no family is perfect and they all have their ups and downs, but overall, it’s that place where we can be ourselves and enjoy it. It’s not so much the size of your home, it’s what you fill it with and who you spend your time with.

  • Wisdom that comes with age

Remember the times when we were so anxious to see things happening? To finish school, to get that promotion, to buy that phone… As time passes by, we realize that life is more than reaching milestones, it’s about enjoying every day to the fullest.

  • Loud and fun family

What’s better than coming home at the end of the day to a loud and happy family? Nothing, most probably. No matter what happens, your closest family members will always love you unconditionally and will always have your back.

  • Reliable friends

They listen to your complaints about your coworkers and jobs. They are there when you obsess over a new hobby or interest and they listen patiently when we brag about our children. Just a few reasons to add your friends on this gratitude list.

  • Internet connection

You might smile, but you know it’s true! Remember how hard it was to stay connected before internet connectivity? Landline calls left unanswered because the recipient was not at home, sending letters that would reach the destination in days or weeks and waiting for an answer back that seemed to last forever. Those days are gone and a new era of 24/7 connections started.

  • Our mistakes

If we never made mistakes, we wouldn’t learn much so it is one of those things we should be thankful for.

  • Giving gifts

We know you’re generous throughout the year, when you grab every opportunity to send top ups with extra bonuses to your family and friends back home in Cuba. So this time think about recharging Cubacel mobiles as a reason to be thankful for having the means to help, to bring a smile on your loved ones’ faces.

  • Learning from unique culture and traditions

Thanksgiving is the holiday that best reflects your mixed cultural heritage: sharing stories about your Cuban part of the family over delicious Cuban food, all brought together by a non-Cuban tradition.

No matter the reason you are thankful for, there’s one more thing we want to add: we are thankful for you, for choosing us to help you stay connected to your loved ones back in Cuba! Happy Thanksgiving!
